Cookie policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on perimeter-one.co.uk, run by Perimeter One Limited trading as Perimeter One ("we", "us").
1. The short version
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
- We use your browser's local storage only to remember your quote basket.
- This is strictly necessary for the basket to work, so we do not need to ask for your consent. That is why you will not see a cookie banner.
2. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website saves on your device. Local storage does a similar job: it lets a website keep small pieces of information in your browser. The law treats both the same way. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), a website must ask for consent before storing or reading information on your device, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.

The basket stays on your device. It is not sent to us until you choose to send a quote request. We cannot see it before then and we do not use it to track you.
Our hosting provider, Netlify, may process basic technical information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages securely. It does not set tracking cookies on our behalf.

4. Why there is no cookie banner
PECR has an exemption for storage that is strictly necessary to provide an online service the user has asked for. A shopping or quote basket is a standard example of this. Because the basket is the only thing we store, and only because you add items to it, no consent is needed.
5. How to control it
- Empty your basket on the website to remove the stored items.
- Clear your browser's site data for perimeter-one.co.uk to remove it completely.
- You can block local storage in your browser settings, but the quote basket will not work. You can still email us for a quote at sales@perimeter-one.co.uk.
6. If we change what we use
If we add analytics, advertising, chat or similar tools in future, we will:
- update this policy before they go live, listing each cookie, who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts;
- ask for your consent with a clear banner before setting any cookie that is not exempt, with "accept" and "reject" options that are equally easy to use;
- where the law allows analytics without consent, tell you clearly and give you a simple way to opt out;
- let you change your choice at any time; and
- update our privacy notice if any personal information is involved.
